The Major Arcana

The 22 cards of the Major Arcana represent the universal experiences we go through and influence our life. They are numbered from 0 to 21. We begin with card zero, the Fool: a blank canvas, and we end with card 21, the World: completion. In between are all the life lessons during our journey to enlightenment.

What do the Major Arcana Cards mean in a reading? When there is a Major Arcana card in a Tarot reading, you are being called to reflect on the life lessons and themes that are currently experienced or appearing in the spread. If there is only one Major Arcana card, it's likely all the other cards are relating back to that card. If you have mostly Major Arcana cards, you are learning important lessons or experiencing life-changing events that will have long-term effects.
